Christmas!

We hope you and your families had a wonderful Christmas season this year; I know we did! Matthew really started to catch on this year - he LOVED all the Christmas lights, Christmas trees, Frosty, Santa, etc - he would always gasp and smile and point everything out. It was so fun. We tried to teach him that Jesus is the reason for the season, read him the story out of a kids Bible multiple times and pointed out the manger scene and baby Jesus, and of course we said Happy Birthday Jesus - but he doesn't get it yet. Oh well, he will! Another fun and exciting thing that happened over Christmas, is that my brother is engaged!!! He asked his girlfriend, Kristen, to marry him on Christmas Eve Eve down in Coronado. So fun - and I'm so excited to welcome Kristen as my new sister-in-law!!

I've seen this pic at Josh's Mom's house many times over the years, but we pulled it out to look at it yesterday and I was just shocked at how much Matthew looks like Josh did at 2 years old! I still think Matthew is a pretty good mix - if you hold up photos of both Josh and I next to Matthew, he's pretty much in the middle, but looking at a pic just of Josh, I think it's so cute that he looks like his daddy :)

More Birthday Fun!

Matthew has been one lucky boy for his birthday this year - it's been more like a birthMONTH than a birthDAY! :) We had a family birthday dinner at our house this past Saturday night, and it was lots of fun - we love getting the family together, and Matthew was definitely blessed :) Here are a few pics from the night. . .

Our Little Boy is 2!!

Matthew turned 2 on Tuesday November 3rd - we just can't believe how fast the time is going - our little boy is really growing up! We celebrated with a birthday week! Monday was Legoland, Tuesday was the SeaLife Aquarium, Wednesday we went to BJ's for birthday dinner with my family, Thursday we had birthday cake with Josh's family. Lucky little boy :)

This Halloween was a lot of fun :) We had been rehearsing saying "Trick or Treat" with Matthew for days, and he actually said it several times - although more often than that he would just walk up and say "candy"! He enjoyed grabbing a candy and putting it in his basket, and he really enjoyed riding in the wagon down the street (and would get a little upset when it wasn't his turn to ride in it - oh well). Great fun with friends (thanks Turners, it was awesome!) and a great first real Trick or Treating Halloween. Happy Halloween everyone!

Fall Fun!

Fall time is so much fun - the colors (even though we don't get much of anything in the changes of seasons department) - the smells, the tastes, oh the food! And the fun :) Here are some pics of our fall so far - our nephew, Matthew's cousin Kylian, had his first birthday! And then pics at Bates Nut Farm. Last year when we went it was super hot at Bates, so this year I swore, just like my friend Melissa, that we wouldn't go again when it was so hot. That plan went out the window when the day we scheduled to go turned out to be 85+ degrees. Ugh. Oh well, we still had fun and good time with friends :) Enjoy the pics!

Season of Change

So just for fun, here is what we are planning to do for our little girl's room (except we'll probably paint a light green or blue on the walls), and then Matthew's room (pic is a little small, they are robots) - so fun!

The Countdown. . .

Museum Day!

So today was Museum Day 2009 - apparently, supported/hosted by Smithsonian Institute, once a year they have a Museum Day where all museums (and some other participating venues) let you in for free if you print out the pass from the Smithsonian Mag website. So fun! So Matthew & I packed in the car, picked up Gina & Taylor and spent the afternoon at the Birch Aquarium!
It was a little crowded - ok, a lot crowded. Didn't think many people would know about Museum day - and if they did, I thought they'd go down to Balboa Park or something, but the aquarium was pretty popular. It was still fun, and I got a few cute pics of Matthew & Taylor together - little kids holding hands is the cutest!!

Silly @ Nigh-Night Time :)

I just love his little laugh, and he gets so silly at bed time!

So every time we ask Matthew if he wants a baby boy or baby girl, he says girl. Every time. Doesn't matter how we phrase the question, say boy, girl, brother or sister - the answer is always girl. . . .we'll see. . . .Countdown till the world knows the gender of Baby Williams #2: 3 weeks!
