Summertime Fun!

It's been a whirlwind of the past few weeks - lots of fun at the spa, the pool, the beach & more!! I am LOVING staying at home, and I really think Matthew is enjoying it too. Let's start with a cute little video of Matthew's new favorite thing (I my new favorite thing he says):

Words can't describe the past few weeks - except FUN and EXHAUSTION, but here are a few pics to show you what we've been up to. Can't wait to share more pics, flix and stories as the summer goes on!

Happy 4th of July!

So my first week as a stay at home mom has come and gone, but did it really count? This first week was my "cheat week" - Matthew still stayed with the Grandparents per our usual arrangements while I cleaned house and ran errands. Yes, it took me 4 days to clean and run errands - no I didn't finish :-P Oh well! So yesterday, Friday, I feel like my stay at home days officially began. We started the day by taking Matthew to an awesome park in San Elijo Hills. It has this fun water feature that Matthew just loved (see pics & video below). So much fun. They also have a sandbox, and a fun play structure that is completely shaded - how nice is that!?

After the park, the day pretty much went downhill though. . . .so Matthew took one afternoon nap (he normally takes 2 naps, a morning and a late afternoon) and woke up crying and unhappy from it. We tried to feed him lunch, didn't really want anything, but finally calmed down. So we decided (oh such a great idea) to go to the fair! We left our house at about 2:45 or so, Matthew & DVD player in tow, and started down there. Didn't actually run into too much traffic, but once we got to the free parking at the horsepark. . .miserable. We waited about 30-40 minutes in line to get on the double deckers to take us over, and once we got there it was just so overwhelmingly confusing and crowded, we decided not to even attempt to go in!!!! So we waited in another 30-40 minute line to get on another bus to go back to our car, and then it took about 30-45 minutes to get home. Poor guy, Matthew was a wreck by the time we got home at 6:30!! :(
Oh well, no fair for us this year - but at least the day started out fun! Here's to much more fun next week, my first full week as an official stay at home mom :) HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!

A New Chapter Begins. . .

So today was my last day of work at North Coast church - and there ends a wonderful chapter in my life. Working at North Coast Church for the past (almost) 2 years has been so great - such wonderful people, wonderful friends, a great environment to be in, and an amazing viewpoint to see God's hand at work. I feel so blessed to have been part of that team, and I am hoping to go back someday in the future. I am so excited to start this new chapter in my life, as a stay at home mom. I know there will be challenges ahead, but I am so looking forward to working through them and spending time with my boy! No promises, but I'm expecting to update my blog much more frequently now that I'll have more time at home - we'll see, I know how crazy it can be with a toddler! Praise God, He is so good!

May is ending already?!

Where has the time gone? And it's been more than a month from my last post. I guess it's because I can't think of anything interesting or entertaining to say :-/
Ok, well one big thing that's happened in the past month or so, is that we've decided it's time for me to be a stay-at-home mom! We are SOOOO excited. I'm sure Matthew would be excited if he understood :-P I am working through the month of June; July will be my first official stay-at-home month, oh boy!
Matthew continues to be a very talkative little boy, always saying something - still lots of jibberish, but lots of words too. It's SO much fun seeing his little boy brain work :-) So here are a few photos to commemerate Mother's Day, etc, and a video - the video is of Matthew watching one of his Baby Einstein DVDs, grooving to "Wheels on the Bus" - super cute (in my opinion) but a little long, so be prepared :-) Hopefully, with more time at home I'll have some interesting anecdotes to share in my next post. Here you go!

Spring has Sprung, April Fun!

Not much new, except another haircut for Matthew (holy cow, it totally aged him like 5 years!) My little toddler, SO much fun. He's learning basically a word a day now - so they might not be the most distinguishable words to other people, but to us they're crystal clear ;-) Coming up on his 18mo appt (next week!) - I always love those appointments, checking up on his developmental progress, making sure things are good, finding out his height & weight & percentiles, it's fun! Is that weird? I'll post a few other random pics, just for funzies!
Not only did the haircut age him, but he's so much blonder now!

Our little stud :-)
He loves to read!
Some fun underwater pics with our new camera!
