. . . how kids can go MONTHS without playing with certain toys, but the second they're put out in a garage sale, it's all they want to play with :)

We are so blessed to live where we live, seriously.  Just 10 minutes from the beach, not too shabby! We've already been to the beach 4 or 5 times and it's only spring! I was just talking to my good friend Melissa the other day, about how our kids are at such a good age now - playing independently, splashing around in the water without actually going in for a swim, not eating sand (well, mostly) - I am looking forward to SOOO many more days at the beach this summer! I'm embarrassed to say we only went a handful of times last year - but it's true, it was just too tough with the kids ages (for me, anyway) - but it's the perfect activity for them now - and perfect for me, too! The kids (and I) will be brown and blonde by the end of the summer, for sure! We are so blessed :)

The Big 3-0!

Today was Josh's 30th Birthday! What a fun milestone, I think the 30s are going to be such a fun chapter in our lives - in our 30s the kids are growing out of the baby stages, into the elementary school years, all the sports or other fun classes that will begin, just so much in that area - Josh's business seems to be taking off, we'll most likely buy our first home in our thirties - so much potential :) - and he gets to start that chapter today :) Happy Birthday, Josh!

Josh and I got to celebrate his birthday a few days early with Dinner 

at Benihana's - then made cake pops and celebrated as a fam today :)

After a breakfast of birthday waffles, we headed over to the theater 

to see The Lorax - the kids loved it! (M had seen it before on our 

Mommy/Son Date Night, but he loved it just as much this time too :)

Finished the day with Pizza and some birthday ice-cream!

Another day of fun in the sun :)

What another beautiful day we had today!! This time we headed out a bit earlier and met up with Melissa and the boys - then ran into a friend with her boys too, what fun! I love that this pic has all 5 mobile kiddos in it (just 3 month old little Gordy not pictured) - the kids had a blast, and we're at a stage now that us moms pretty much just got to relax!!! I see many more days like this in the near future :)

Fun in the Sun!

What a beautiful sunny day it was today! Started off at the park with my girl while Matthew was at preschool, then in the afternoon we picked up Grandpa and headed to the beach! As soon as the ocean was visible in the skyline all k would say was "beach beach beach!!" love having fun in the sun :)

Rainy Day!

Decided to enjoy the rainy day by heading to Sea Life Aquarium - the new crab/lobster exhibit is pretty cool, check it out if you get the chance!

Shiloh!

Yesterday was a special day - first thing in the morning we found out that my sis-in-law Simone was in labor and at the hospital - how exciting! The first baby for Josh's bro David and his wife Simone, and our very first niece. She was due April 2, so we've all just been awaiting the news :) She labored all day, then right around dinner-time Josh and I piled the kids in the car and headed down to the hospital in Encinitas. We got there just in time for David to come out and tell us Shiloh was born at about 6:20pm, baby and mom were doing well! We waited around with family for another hour or so and then we got to go in and meet her - what a sweet baby girl!! She is loved by so many already - welcome to the world little Shiloh!!

Shiloh's nursery theme is owls, so I "whipped up" some owl cake pops to take to the hospital  - Matthew got one made to order ;-)

He is Risen!

He is risen indeed! We had a wonderful Easter weekend with family and friends. On Easter we started off at church (Josh working, me volunteering in the nursery, actually went to service Saturday night - really good message) - then headed over to my family's house for brunch. It was delicious and so nice to spend time with my family. Later in the day we went to Josh's mom's house and spent time with family there - it's always so fun to catch up with everyone there, the kids love spending time with all their aunts and uncles, Grandma and Grandpa. We are so blessed.

Had some fun today in the warmer weather!

Would have taken a pic of M too, but he prefers to swim in the nude lol :) So here is a little anecdote about him instead: In the car this afternoon, M wanted a sip of my diet coke. I don't always let him drink my diet coke (1, I know it's not very good for him, 2, it's MY diet coke lol) but I said: "ok, you can have one sip" M: "How about 2 sips?" Me: "ok, you can have two sips" - I hand back the drink and start to adjust my rearview mirror so I could keep an eye on him and his two sips, and he says "but, don't watch me, just watch where you're going" hahaha, he was totally going to take way more than two sips. Mmmm, Diet Coke :)
