Family Fun Day :)

Saturday started off nice and slow, love being able to not have to get up and going  every now and then :) Started the day with a science experiment! I ran out of dishwashing detergent and thought it was about time to try one of my Pinterest pins, a DIY natural dishwashing detergent. I decided it would be fun for the kids to help. Got out the ingredients: Baking Soda, White Vinegar, Borax and lemon juice.  The kids enjoyed squeezing the lemons, and loved watching the fizz as the vinegar and lemon juice were added to the powders. Unnnnfortunately, didn't seem to clean the dishes very well. Oh well, had to try it :)

It was another really warm weekend, so after our little experiment, we decided to head out as a fam to the splash park!

Beach Blast!

We've been so blessed this summer to have had so many more visits from my brother than usual - this past weekend he came down to help a photographer friend of his shoot a few weddings, so we got to spend Monday at the beach with him! We missed having Auntie Kristen in town, hope we can visit with them both in the near future!

Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot!

This last weekend was a HOT one - and it was my busiest weekend at work of the entire year! :) While the heat was stifling, it was actually fun to go to the pool and beach and want to SWIM!!!

Pic taken at 10am in Vista, after pulling in to the parking lot at church. 100 degrees, 10am - and the setup for the event was outside! Insane. Luckily, most of the prep work I ended up doing was administrative indoors in the AC until about 4pm. Phew!

Got to take the morning off and take the kiddos to our neighborhood pool Saturday morning. . . and we had it all to ourselves on another 100 degree day - what?!?!?! Definitely inviting friends next time :)

Fish & Foam

Matthew & Kaylie got to go visit Uncle Rudy & Auntie Brittany in Menifee today with Grandma & Grandpa. They had a blast, I so wish we could have gone with them (Josh and I had to work today.) Brittany & Rudy bought a house in an awesome community with a great pool/splashground/park, and a lake where you can fish and ride paddleboats - how cool is that? All technically within walking distance. Matthew couldn't stop talking about how fun it was :)

Matthew caught his first fish!!! (he got a tiny one after that too) - they throw the fish back at this lake, so we didn't get to eat them (the kids and I are total fish lovers), but he was so excited :)

Finally, I got home from work and the kiddos got to come home to me - yay! Ended the day with some bath-time fun :) My little goofballs. . .
